I know it is suppose to be about water but I had to be to work early and did not get until late. So these were taken the other day. These were a find in a cemetary. They were shot with a few different setting and of course Macro. No tripod on a windy day..

In 2004 Brevard county took several multiple hits from multiple directions for now well known storms. Charlie from the west, Frances and Jeanne from the southeast and Ivan sucker punched up. We had tornadoes and beach erosion. We lost multiple hotels, restaurants and homes to these storm furry. This is what is left of a riverside dock that these storm took apart piece by piece like tinker toys. The dock at the time of the first storm Frances was loaded with boats. Some feel prey and sunk in there location. It a boat did survive the attack it's own had trouble getting to evaluate the damage because of the dock damage. Sheets of alummiun was pull from the dry dock and threw it through the local neighborhoods.
The boat you see docked is a local fisherman. There is no walkway to get from were he is tied to shore. He was just out there netting fish This is the Fire Rescue boat for your local Fire Department. This is the only boat left docked at this marina.
This is the restaurant over looking the marina. The windows were blown out this restaurant and it was flooded with storm waters. They have since sold the marina and restaurant and will level both and build riverfront condos. Yeppie more of the riverfront covered by multistory condos. The last picture is taken at the end of a beautiful day.

Well this morning was a very foggy morning. I wanted to go and take a picture of the of this rail bridge but it was too foggy to see the bridge. So I stopped the Old Melbourne Ce
metary. These are some flowers on one of the graves. I love the dew still on the leaves.

These are some of the grave markers through out the cemetary. These date back to the 1800. There is even rumors that there is a grave marker dated back to the civil war with the name of 5 brothers killed during the war. I did not get to walk to far around the cemetary because I was late for work. OOPSS.jpg)

I gues I should start this out as My Town Chapter 2. I know you are thinking Why did she take a picture of a house that is in the process of being moved. Well this has a couple interesting stories. This house was the birth place of a rocker by the name of Jim Morrison. It unfortunately does not sit on the origional property anylonger which brings the story as to why it still sits on beams. One plastic surgeon owned the property and building. She decided to sell said property (not the House). Another physician decided he would put an offer on the building and property. He failed to read this contract and did not realized only the property was for sale. See what happens when you assume. Well the plastic surgeon had it already to move her office and surgery suites to another property near by that she owned. Now there it a big legal fight which has gone on for over a year now.
These next photos are of the old refurbished Ice Plant. This building dates back to the 1800. This supplied local communities with ice. This is owned by another physician and was rehabilitated and now houses office suites. I have driven by it for years thinking it would be a great studio because of all those gaint windows and natural light. Sorry I will try to a better frontal photo but it faces a 7 lane highway.
Just a little more about my town.

Well Where to begin about my home town. This is more or less a collection of cities and crammed into the end of a central Florida county. Our county is 70miles long of beautiful beaches and swamp land. We are the home to a Very famous beach (Cocoa Beach), A busy port (Port Canaveral), a world renowned Seafood Festival (Grant Seafood Festival)and We sent the first man into space (Kennedy Space Center). We even have two air bases. We are just an hour away from Orlando, the theme park wonderland. In the south end of Brevard County is Viera, Suntree, Melbourne, Eau Gallie, Palm Bay, Melbourne Beach, Indialantic, Satellite Beach and Indian Harbor Beach. I live in Melbourne to be exact. I live within 5 minutes for the Indian River and 15 minutes from the beach. In the spring we have turtles who return to our shores year after year to lay their eggs. These pictures are taken at the mouth of the Melbourne River at Ballard Park. The first three are taken toward the US Highway 1 overpass. The last is of one of the Eau Gallie Causeway, one of the many routes to the beaches. More of Brevard to come
