I gues I should start this out as My Town Chapter 2. I know you are thinking Why did she take a picture of a house that is in the process of being moved. Well this has a couple interesting stories. This house was the birth place of a rocker by the name of Jim Morrison. It unfortunately does not sit on the origional property anylonger which brings the story as to why it still sits on beams. One plastic surgeon owned the property and building. She decided to sell said property (not the House). Another physician decided he would put an offer on the building and property. He failed to read this contract and did not realized only the property was for sale. See what happens when you assume. Well the plastic surgeon had it already to move her office and surgery suites to another property near by that she owned. Now there it a big legal fight which has gone on for over a year now.
These next photos are of the old refurbished Ice Plant. This building dates back to the 1800. This supplied local communities with ice. This is owned by another physician and was rehabilitated and now houses office suites. I have driven by it for years thinking it would be a great studio because of all those gaint windows and natural light. Sorry I will try to a better frontal photo but it faces a 7 lane highway.
Just a little more about my town.

Great photos and stories to match! My fav: the first one! What did you use to make the corners and photo edges?
Great photos!!
A town with some history!! Yay!
Great pictures that tell that story, I love the architecture of the house especially. You captured it beautifully!
Great shots and interesting stories!
I love those shots, and I love the story. What great pictures!
I love your photos and the stories behind them. We had a similar feud between the town and a local Catholic Church. The church wanted to move a house (on property they owned) so they could expand their ridiculously small parking lot. The house was (in a former life) a stop on the underground railroad, and some people in the twon went nuts. The church ended up winning in court, and the house was moved.
thanks for sharing your wonderful sotries about your hometown. They are so interesting! The pictures are great. I love the conversions of your first picture. How did you do the framing around your picture. It gives it a really old feeling. TFS
Cool story, and neat buildings! Some real history in your town :) TFS!
